【Centum Convergence: ”Dialogue with Officials”】The event was successfully held at Tung Po Restaurant on the morning of 28th February. Those who attended to show their support included our Chairman, Dr Lee Man-chun, SBS, JP; Executive Vice-Chairman, Dr Liu Yu-hin; Mr Li Hai-feng; and Mr Orr Ka-yeung. Vice-Chairmen, Mr Chan Ka-chun and Mr Ngan Chi-wing were also present, as were Secretary-General, Ms Lo Wing-sze, BBS, JP; Member, Mr Chan Kwok-cheung; and Chief Executive, Ms Leung Yuen-ping.
We were honored to have the Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr. Ho Kai-ming, JP, attend the event. In his speech, Mr. Ho expressed his hope that the “Strive and Rise Programme” will help more Secondary One to Four students from underprivileged families—particularly those living in subdivided units—by broadening mentees’ horizons, strengthening their self-confidence, fostering a positive outlook on life, helping them set goals for the future, and encouraging upward mobility. Afterwards, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr. Ho and Chairman Lee Man-chun, presented appreciation souvenirs and certificates to outstanding mentors recommended by the Centum Charitas Foundation, who have quietly supported the “Strive and Rise Programme” for three to four consecutive years.
On the day, over 60 mentors attended. The Under Secretary,Mr. Ho, council members, and the mentors gathered together to share their experiences — filled with laughter and lively conversation, creating a very festive atmosphere.
