The sharing session for the “Hunan Tour” youth exchange trip was successfully held. Over 40 participants, guests, and staff members attended the event. The session provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas and interact, while also showcasing our organization’s efforts in broadening young people’s horizons and strengthening their sense of national identity.
On the day of the sharing session, in addition to the participants, attendees included Ms. Leung, Chief Executive of Centum Charitas Foundation; Principal Man and Director Lui from Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Kwok Yat Wai College; Director Chan from Buddhist Mau Fung Memorial College; and mentors from the Strive and Rise Programme Alumni Association. Participants shared their experiences and reflections from Hunan. Ms. Leung presented awards for the Best Project Presentation Team and the Best Individual Team Member, expressing gratitude for the team’s dedication and commitment to the pre-trip project presentations. She also recognized the team member who demonstrated the most enthusiastic participation and willingness to help others during the exchange program.
Participants of the “Hunan Tour” youth exchange trip delivered presentations on the following themes: the history of the War of Resistance Against Japan and the preciousness of peace; the contributions of Yuan Longping, the father of hybrid rice, and the development of agricultural technology; the integration of nature and culture; and the architectural and cultural diversity of Hunan. Subsequently, student and mentor representatives from the exchange group shared their insights and reflections gained from interactions with students at Zhijiang Dong Autonomous County No. 2 Middle School and Huaihua Vocational and Technical College. Participants noted that the exchange deepened their understanding of national development and historical awareness. At the Museum for the Victory of the War of the Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japan, yellowed historical documents and reconstructed scenes brought to life the authentic history beyond textbooks. At the Flying Tigers Memorial Hall, everyone collectively revisited the wartime years when Chinese and American military and civilian forces fought side by side. These precious bonds that transcended national borders deeply impressed upon everyone that peace is never something to be taken for granted. Additionally, student Luo stated that after visiting the AiZhai Suspension Bridge, he was filled with admiration for the laborers who constructed this bridge. With calloused hands, they paved the way forward, cultivating the surrounding vegetation with sweat to create this engineering marvel. This experience filled him with profound pride for China and deepened his love for the country. During the screening of the highlights video, laughter frequently filled the room, showcasing the warmth of their team interactions.
