
Funded by the Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Youth Development Commission of the HKSAR and with support from the Sanya Overseas Friendship Association , the Centum Charitas Foundation organized the [Hainan Agricultural & Technology Tour], which held an introductory session on the morning of 29 March at the Hong Kong Scout Centre. This exchange programme a five-day, four-night exchange journey from 21 to 25 April, includes 36 participants, encompassing students from secondary schools, members and alumni of the Strive and Rise Programme, and Centum Youth.
The main objective of the exchange tour is provide
Hong Kong youth to personally experience the scenic landscapes, historical
culture, aerospace technology, and agricultural technological developments of
their motherland through visits to sites such as the Rice National Park, Hainan
Aerospace Engineering Breeding and Development Centre, and the Hainan
Provincial Biodiversity Science and Technology Museum. The aim is to ignite
young people’s interest in national culture while strengthening their national
identity and pride. Additionally, the program is designed to enhance the
participants’ independent thinking and teamwork abilities.
During the introductory session,
participants had the chance to familiarize themselves with one another and
received comprehensive briefings on the presentation requirements and topics
they will address upon returning to Hong Kong.The participants have now begun
their preparations and are scheduled to embark.
This [Hainan Agricultural & Technology
Tour] not only provides Hong Kong youth with a unique opportunity to gain an
in-depth understanding of China’s advancements in agricultural technology and
aerospace developments but also promotes meaningful exchanges and cooperation
between young people from both regions.
As the saying goes, “Read ten thousand books, travel ten thousand miles” we hope that our youth will fully engage in and value this enriching experience.
