The 【New Quality Productive Forces Internship Program 2025】organized by Centum Charitas Foundation with funding support from Youth Development Commission by HKSAR Home and Youth Affairs Bureau Committee, supported by the Guangzhou Tianhe Hong Kong and Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Service Center, successfully held its sharing session on August 30 at the Hong Kong Scout Centre. The event was honored to have Mr. Lee, a member of the Youth Development Committee, and Mr. Tse, a director of the Centum Charitas Foundation, as guest speakers.
Mr.
Lee encouraged Hong Kong youth to actively participate in government-organized
youth activities, emphasizing that these opportunities not only add vibrant
experiences to their university careers but are also invaluable for broadening
their horizons. Concurrently, Mr. Tse urged everyone to engage more with the
Greater Bay Area, encouraging them to explore bravely and lay a solid
foundation for their future careers.
During
the session, 12 interns delivered group presentations, divided into three groups.
Their topics covered SWOT analysis of the workplace environments in Hong Kong
and mainland China, career-oriented planning, and insights into employment and
entrepreneurship. The content of the presentations was exceptionally rich and
informative.
First,
the first group emphasized the career opportunities available on both sides of
the border. They highlighted Hong Kong’s roles as a super-connector, an
amplifier for the Greater Bay Area, and a builder of emerging centers. In
contrast, they identified mainland China’s opportunities as being driven by the
wave of technological innovation and the digital economy, the “engineer
dividend” from industrial upgrading, and a fertile ground for entrepreneurship
and internal innovation.
Next,
the second group shared that the Huizhou and Nansha Enterprise Visits not only
broadened their horizons and deepened industry understanding but also yielded
valuable insights into employment and entrepreneurship. These inspirations
included policies and opportunities for starting a business, the importance of
detail and craftsmanship, aligning with market demand, and the value of
continuous learning and personal growth.
Finally,
the third group presented their individual short, medium, and long-term career
plans. Their collective goals included becoming versatile professionals,
pursuing a career in media operations, aiming to be marketing managers, and
becoming veterinarians. Notably, one intern shared a profound shift in their
professional perspective, stating, “A specialized degree is not a shackle to a
career, but rather the cornerstone for its development.”
