The sharing session was held on March 22 at Kwun Tong HKSKH Bishop Hall Secondary School. As ESG sustainable development and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) are the emerging global issues, the youth will be much benefited if the knowledge is shared at the earliest possible. Therefore, in 2024, we revamped the “Youth Empowerment Sharing Session” to focus on ESG sustainable development and application of AI for good, inspiring youth to conceive and implement ideas related to ESG and AI.
To pilot the new approach, we were honored to have Prof Poon Chung-Kwong, GBS, OBE, JP, Emeritus President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as the sharing guest on AI for good to fellow students of the HKSKS Bishop Hall Secondary School.
During the sharing session, Professor Poon exchanged with more than 70 elite students and inspired them on how to prepare for the AI era. They should constantly be learning and exploring the latest on technologies and be aware of the pros, cons and ethics which possibly come with technology. Proper use of technology can be effective, but improper use of technology will be a threat. Professor also reminded students to keep an appropriate approach towards new technology and not to let it override all. Most students were inspired by the Professor’s feedback and could well be prepared for their future encounter with AI.
At the end of the sharing, Professor Poon encouraged all students to be grateful, have empathy and think from other perspectives, do the right thing while not benefit at the expense of others. Wishing all students a successful future ahead.
