The “Mainland Internship Programme 2024” closing ceremony was held on 9th August, 2024 at Guangzhou Tianhe Hong Kong and Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Service Center in Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. This internship programme started from 8th July to 9th August,2024, it lasted for 33 days. 11 participants in total from various tertiary institutions, including The University of Hong Kong, Jinan University and Nanjing University of Science & Technology.
We are honored to have the committee members of our foundation and representatives from six internship companies for the students for attending the ceremony and giving best wishes to students embarking on their future journey.
Mr Terence Chan Yin Hon, Director of Guangzhou Tianhe Hong Kong and Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Service Center as well as the committee member of our foundation, stated: “we sincerely thank the companies for providing internship positions for our students, and received their positive feedback on the students’ performance. Furthermore, some of the students even hoped to stay longer to learn a bit more work experiences. I am very happy that the student gained many during the internship programme, and I encourage the students to keep connected with their supervisors for better future career development.”
We also honored to have Ms Queeny Lui, Head of Leasing Portfolio (Guangzhou) of Henderson (China ) Investment Co, Ltd. to attend the closing ceremony: “I encourage our students to seize the entrepreneurial opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. the structure of many companies had changed dramatically after the COVID. In particular, with the implementation of the China’s policy on the development of the Greater Bay Area, where you would be more possible to apply what you have learned for your career developments”.
In the ceremony, the students also expressed that they had rich experiences and gains through this internship programme. Many of them realized how important it is to establish interpersonal relationships, social network in the commercial sector. More, they appreciated the opportunities for practice and learnt through making mistakes, and they also thanked for the guidance from their supervisors in the internship programme, which speeded up their paces of growth. Some students were also get inspired in the internship programme and planning to start their own business related to ESG in the future.
Representatives of the internship companies also offered their recognition to the students, complimenting them for their positive working attitude, good manner, & excellent communication skills. For example, the company promoting education on robots highlighted their three internship students for their enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, and innovative ability, and one of the internship companies plan to hire our two internship students to organize activities in the future.
This internship programme was completed successfully, our foundation needs special thanks to the generous support by HKSAR Home Affairs and Youth Affairs Bureau– “Funding Scheme for Youth Internship in the Mainland”. And extend our heartfelt gratitude to Guangzhou Tianhe Hong Kong and Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Service Center for their collaboration, as well as to the six internship companies.
